COMPASS Summer Experience

June 21-26, 2025
COMPASS is a week-long summer immersion program for high school students and rising college freshmen who would like to explore an academic field of interest through hands-on experiences. Students can choose from a variety of on-campus learning opportunities that fit best with their busy summer schedules. Taught by college-level instructors, COMPASS is a great way to experience life on a college campus and discover a potential career pathway.

*COMPASS is open to rising high school freshmen through rising first-time college freshmen only. College transfer students are not eligible for this event.

Exercise Science
Get your body and your brain moving as we study the essentials of healthy living. Master the techniques used in wellness testing to identify and treat diseases.
Herpetology
Get up close and personal with WNC’s wildlife! Learn how to take care of natural environments in your own backyard!
Audio Production
Behind every concert production, song recording, film, or TV show is a crew of skilled professionals that bring it all to life. The Audio Production program encourages entrepreneurial thinking as students learn the essentials of the music industry. Leave camp with a new understanding of audio engineering, song writing, and sound editing!
Criminal Justice
Inspired by real police academy topics and activities, this immersion program will highlight key components of Basic Law Enforcement Training.
