Montreat College is proud to announce that its online Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program has received full accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). This accreditation reaffirms the college’s commitment to providing high-quality education and professional preparation in the field of mental health counseling.
Previously, Montreat College offered a hybrid Clinical Mental Health Counseling program that was also accredited by CACREP. However, in January 2024, the college transitioned to an entirely online format, and CACREP required additional reporting to ensure that the new virtual program met the same rigorous standards as the hybrid model. After thorough evaluation and review, CACREP has now granted full accreditation to Montreat College’s online CMHC program.
“This achievement underscores our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence and ensuring that our students receive the best possible education and training, regardless of the delivery format,” said Dr. Mark Hijleh, Provost of Montreat College.
The fully online Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Montreat College prepares graduates for successful careers in mental health counseling, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Key features of Montreat College’s CMHC program include:
Lifestyle Balance: On average, students enrolled in Montreat’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program successfully fulfill their 60-credit requirements within a span of two and a half years, achieving this milestone by taking three courses (9 credits) at a time.
Mentorships: Montreat College places a strong emphasis on fostering personal relationships with students. Going beyond conventional office hours, the program includes workshops that serve as networking and professional development opportunities.
Internships: Montreat College students gain approximately 700 hours of experience before they enter various areas of specialty.
Expert Faculty: Experienced professionals dedicated to student success offer a personalized approach, mentorship, and development of each student as a person, professional, and spiritual individual.
