Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for teaching courses (24 credit hours or equivalent per year) in the CACREP-accredited Montreat Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and other related areas, with specific courses determined by background and departmental needs. Additional responsibilities include updating curriculum, participating in faculty committees, active participation in maintaining the program’s CACREP accreditation, and other duties as described in the Faculty Handbook. Either position may include additional stipended role as AGS Counseling and Psychology Department Chair, CMHC Clinical Director, or CMHC Program Director, depending on qualifications and program needs.

Education/Experience
- A terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a regionally accredited college/university, CACREP accreditation preferred.
- State-issued counseling license required.
- Teaching and clinical counseling experience required.
- Knowledge of ethical standards of practice and ability to effectively teach the same.
- Demonstrate superior oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate competence in a variety of computer applications including MS Office Suite, Blackboard, and other software used in the program. Experience with Tevera is preferred.
- An understanding of adult learning and distance learning theory.
Supervision
Department Chair of Counseling and Psychology, School of Adult and Graduate Studies. Works closely and cooperatively with CMHC Program Director and Clinical Director.
