Dr. Robert Roth
Associate Professor of Criminal Justice
Dr. Robert Roth joined the Montreat College faculty in 2019 as an associate professor of criminal justice. Prior to coming to Montreat, Dr. Roth had over a decade teaching experience—at both the high school and college level, and in both a classroom setting and in an online format. Dr. Roth’s professional experience in criminal justice comes from over 10 years of work in law enforcement. He has worked as both a deputy sheriff and a township patrol officer. He has experience as a criminal investigator, drug enforcement detective, firearms instructor, field training officer, and assistant squad leader for the county emergency response team.
Dr. Roth earned his B.A. in criminal justice from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and his M.S. in criminal justice from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Roth also has an earned doctorate in leadership from Liberty University.
Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Dr. Roth comes to Montreat after spending the last 12 years residing in Chesterfield, Virginia. He is joined in North Carolina by his wife and four children. The Roth family enjoys the wonderful outdoor activities North Carolina has to offer and cheering for their Philadelphia sports teams.
