Calling and Career Development
At Montreat College we believe that you were designed to live, serve, and work, all for the glory of God. We desire that when you leave Montreat you have a clear sense of purpose as you attend graduate school, enter your first job, or pursue your unique vocation. We have designed the steps below to help you learn more about who you are, identify your talents and abilities, discover the type of work that you may most enjoy, and challenge yourself to explore your full potential!
Step 1: Identity
“Who am I?” “What is God’s design for my life?” “What is my purpose?” “How can I be authentic?” Get help discerning your interests, personality, and strengths, and explore majors.
Step 2: Experience
Practice what you’ve learned about areas you are interested in and test out your choices about your major and future work through internships, volunteer work, academic research, and more.
Step 3: Relationships
Make connections with others who can help increase your knowledge about particular careers and fields, and create a network of individuals who can sponsor you when there are new opportunities.
Step 4: Readiness
Stand out with excellent materials and interviewing skills that reflect who you are, your abilities, and your accomplishments as you pursue internships, jobs, and graduate school opportunities.
