Running Toward Excellence: Dr. Madeline Sides Commissioned as Cyber Warfare Officer
In 2023, Sides became the first cyber graduate from Montreat College to earn a Ph.D. in the field, completing her doctorate in computer science, cybersecurity, and information assurance from Colorado Technical University. Never one to remain idle, she recently added yet another remarkable achievement to her growing resume as a Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserves. For Sides, her commissioning was the fulfillment of a long-held dream.

Montreat College Records Largest Spring Enrollment
Despite challenges brought by Hurricane Helene last semester, Montreat College has announced its largest Spring semester enrollment in the school’s 109-year history. Traditional residential enrollment has increased more than 6% from last year’s Spring semester and surpassed the previous record set in 2022.

Montreat College Community Remembers Mary Eleanor Hurt (1939-2024)
Mary Eleanor Hurt, a former First Lady of Montreat College, passed away on September 19, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was 85.
