Eligibility
- Montreat College requires a final, official transcript from all colleges attended for continued enrollment.
- Courses from regionally accredited institutions with a grade of C or better are eligible for transfer.
- A maximum of two physical activity courses graded P (passing) may be transferred.
Credit Limits
- Up to 66 semester hours may be transferred from 2-year colleges.
- A maximum of 90 semester hours can be transferred from regionally accredited 4-year institutions.
- A combined total of 30 credits from non-regionally accredited institutions or examination credits may be accepted toward a bachelor’s degree (15 for an associate degree).
Non-Accredited Institutions
- Coursework from non-regionally accredited schools is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and requires a minimum grade of C.
- Courses taken at non-accredited “online only” organizations (e.g. StraighterLine, Sophia Learning) will not be accepted in transfer regardless of ACE recognition.
International Credits
- Transcripts from international institutions must be translated and evaluated by a recognized educational evaluation service.
Quarter to Semester Conversion
- Quarter credit hours are converted to semester credits using the following formula: Semester credits = quarter hours x 2/3.
