About
College is a time of growth and change, so it’s common for students to experience some stress and difficulties along the way. The Wellness and Counseling Center currently provides a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting where students can participate in life coaching, counseling, referral to local resources, and consultation.

Staff
Kathleen Walden – Coordinator for Wellness and Counseling Services
Serving as both the front door and first level of student care, based on an initial needs assessment, Kathleen will determine how best to support each individual student through either 1) meeting with a life coach (Kathleen Walden), 2) scheduling a meeting with a licensed therapist, or 3) referring the student to off-site support (hospital, counselor, psychologist, etc.).

Dr. Anna Lee Brown, LCMHCS
An Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Adult and Graduate Studies program at Montreat College, she is available for counseling sessions with students by appointment.
Ms. Kelly Burch, LCMHCA
Montreat College has currently partnered with Summit Wellness Centers, a leader in Christian Mental Health in western North Carolina, to provide students with free sessions with an on-site counselor by appointment. Our on-site counselor and liaison to Summit is Kelly Burch.
